Who we are
Founded by Sarah Rappolt and Sarajane Lynch, It’s The BreakRoom is the culmination of over 30 years of combined experience as master stylists and educators. We don’t believe in watered-down education—only real skills that build real careers. If you’re serious about leveling up, you’re in the right place.
About Sarah Rappolt
Sarah Rappolt is a master hairdresser, educator, and industry leader with over two decades of hands-on experience and global impact. A graduate of Vidal Sassoon Academy, she began her journey in Beverly Hills before cementing her place in New York City’s elite hair scene. At Bumble and Bumble, Sarah spent 12 transformative years as a senior stylist and lead educator—traveling nationally and internationally to shape the next generation of hairstylists with rigor, intention, and precision. She has held the position of Director of Education and Curriculum at some of the most exclusive boutique salons in NYC. Her teaching is known for its clarity and depth. With a sharp eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to excellence, Sarah builds strong technical foundations while guiding stylists toward their own creative breakthroughs. Her classes aren’t just about doing hair—they’re about understanding it on a deeper level.
But Sarah’s influence stretches far beyond the salon floor. With a profound belief in equity and access, she has dedicated much of her time to community-based education, working with survivors of homelessness, domestic violence, and incarceration. Through initiatives like Fearless Beauty at Rikers Island, she uses hairdressing as a tool for healing, empowerment, and reintegration—bringing both humanity and artistry into every space she enters.
About Sarajane Lynch
Sarajane Lynch brings an unmistakable energy to It’s The BreakRoom—equal parts intuitive, technical, and soulfully grounded. With a career that spans editorial shoots, backstage fashion week work, and leadership roles as Director of Education at top NYC boutique salons, Sarajane fuses high-level skill with a rare emotional intelligence. Her expertise in both scissor and razor cutting is matched by a deep understanding of how to teach from the inside out. She doesn’t just teach how to cut—she teaches how to feel shape, how to see movement, and how to listen to the person in your chair. Her classes help stylists find their voice behind the chair, transforming technique into artful communication.
A fierce believer in beauty as a force for good, Sarajane has also worked with incarcerated women and those in transition, using hair as a tool for dignity and connection. With a strong philanthropic spirit and a commitment to meaningful change, she proves that education is most powerful when it’s rooted in both mastery and humanity.
About It’s the Breakroom
When Sarah and Sarajane teach together, it’s not just education—it’s an awakening. They merge technical precision with emotional intelligence, structure with creativity, discipline with intuition. Students don’t just learn "how" to cut hair; they learn why it matters. Their classroom energy is electric yet grounded, welcoming every stylist exactly where they are—and pushing them forward without ego or judgment. With complementary strengths and a shared mission to elevate real skill over trend, Sarah and Sarajane create a learning experience that doesn’t just change technique—it transforms careers.
