Over the course of twelve months, you'll work one-on-one with a Breakroom mentor to strengthen every part of your work behind the chair—from technical decision-making and communication to self-reflection, research, and problem solving. Together, we'll build the habits, mindset, and critical thinking skills that allow great hairdressers to continue growing long after the class is over.

This isn't a quick fix or a series of coaching calls. It's a structured apprenticeship built around the Breakroom Method: Search, Connect, Cut, and Reflect. Through monthly mentorship sessions, guided practice, weekly assignments, and honest feedback, you'll learn how to evaluate your work with greater clarity, communicate more intentionally with clients, and approach your craft with confidence and purpose.

Throughout the year, you'll receive:

  • One 60-minute private mentorship session each month

  • Weekly guided practice and development exercises

  • Personalized technical and service-based feedback

  • Approximately three hours of focused work each week

  • Business-hours email and text support

  • Reflection tools to strengthen self-assessment and critical thinking

  • A 20% discount on all Breakroom education, including the complete (Of) Service series

By the end of the apprenticeship, you'll have:

  • Better problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • A deeper understanding of consultation, communication, and client trust

  • The ability to research, analyze, and translate inspiration with intention

Because meaningful mentorship requires time and attention, enrollment is intentionally limited. Applicants are selected based on curiosity, commitment, coachability, and a genuine desire to grow—not years of experience or technical perfection.
